Tyler Binaday persevered and gave it his all despite enduring numerous setbacks and injuries this season. In honour of Filipino Heritage Month, here’s a tale that showcases yet another source of national pride for the Filipino people.
At the Canadian National Championships, Tyler has completed two days of competition. He earned a bronze medal in the rings competition and finished fourth in the junior 14-15 all-around competition.
Gymnastics Canada, the country’s governing body for the sport, organises the annual Canadian Artistic Gymnastics Championships (CAGC), which are held in a different Canadian city each year. Athletes take part in the competition to flaunt their skills and test their limits.
The event took place from May 18-22, 2023, at the Richmond Olympic Oval in Richmond, British Columbia. The Canada’s top athletes converged on this event to test their mettle against those of their peers. The Gymnastics CAGC Coordinators are ecstatic to present the hardworking gymnasts, coaches, judges, and staff who represented the province at the 2023 National Championships.
As a shining example of Filipino ingenuity and tenacity in the face of adversity, Tyler will forever be a source of pride for the Filipino diaspora. Tyler’s accomplishment is a tribute to the rich history of the Filipino people all over the world.###
