Wraps Up Canada Speaking Tour

As part of a cross-country speaking tour in Canada, peasant leader and human rights advocate, Danilo Ka Daning” Ramos concludes his visit with a press conference reflecting on the growing international solidarity for the Filipino people’s struggle for human rights, land, justice, and peace.

Throughout the tour, Ka Daning engaged with Filipino communities, human rights advocates, faith groups, labour organizers, students, parliamentarians and solidarity networks to discuss the worsening human rights situation in the Philippines, escalating militarization, attacks on activists and rural communities, and the continuing struggle of peasants and Indigenous peoples defending their land and livelihoods.

The press conference will provide an opportunity to hear key reflections from the speaking tour, discuss current political and human rights developments in the Philippines, and strengthen calls for international solidarity and accountability.
