Migrante Canada is working with the Consortium for People’s Development – Disaster Response, Inc to respond to the damage to communities, homes, lives of the people caused by Typhoon Kristine/Typhoon Trami.
Many of the families of OFWs in the flood-stricken areas have not stopped worrying about the fate of their families.

Migrante Canada, through its Sagip Migrante-Canada disaster response arm, calls out to its chapters and organizations across Canada for donations. Please send donations from your organization to Migrante International (MI) or to the Consortium. If your organization sends the donations directly to MI, please email Migrante Canada to help track and monitor our ayuda. Maraming salamat. For those who have friends and relatives in the Philippines, material donations can be sent to CPD. Volunteers wanting to help out in relief operations can contact the CPD as well.
Migrante Canada calls out to our friends and our kababayan throughout Canada to help out in this desperate time of need. Migrante Canada will make sure your donations are acknowledged and updates will be sent out.

From the Consortium for People’s Development-Disaster Response (Oct 23)
“The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration or PAGASA stated that Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami) is slowly intensifying over the Philippine Sea east of Quezon, putting more regions in Luzon and the Visayas under Signal No. 2. The Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) reports that rescuers in Albay, Camarines Sur, and Naga City are overwhelmed with rescue calls.
Moreover, Philippine Institute of Volcanology, or PHIVOLCS has issued a lahar advisory for Mayon Volcano on Tuesday (October 22, 2024) as Tropical Storm #KristinePH is expected to maintain its strength and bring heavy to strong rainfall to the Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas.
In light of this, CPD-DR and its networks are appealing for donations to support ongoing rescues and relief operations for communities devastated by floods and severe rains caused by the storm. For further inquiries or coordination, please reach out to CPD-DR through this Facebook page.”
From Damayang Migrante, the disaster/emergency arm of Migrante Philippines (Oct 23)
