Toronto, Canada — Filipinos in Canada are coming together to say “Tama Na!” (Enough!) in the face of growing reports of corruption and “ghost projects” in the Philippines. The upcoming launch of the Tama Na Coalition (Taumbayan Ayaw sa Magnanakaw at Abusado–Toronto) will gather community leaders, organizations, and advocates in a united call for transparency, justice, and accountability in government.
Set for November 1, 5PM, at OPSEU 31 Wellesley in Toronto, the event will feature former Congressman Neri Colmenares as guest speaker and the presentation of the coalition’s Unity Statement. The launch is organized by Bayan Canada, Malaya Canada, and the Tama Na Coalition, with broad support from various Filipino community organizations across Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Among the key supporters of the movement is the newly formed artists’ group called Network ng mga Artista Laban sa Opresyon at Korapsyon ng Nasyon (Naloko Na). Comprised of Filipino artists and cultural workers based in Toronto and neighboring Canadian cities, Naloko Na has been inspired by the people’s struggle against systemic corruption and injustice. The group has circulated a Manifesto of Solidarity Against Corruption (https://bit.ly/nalokona), which has gained strong support from the Filipino Canadian arts community. The Manifesto will be read publicly during the Tama Na launch.
“The formation of Naloko Na is our creative response to the people’s call for integrity and genuine change, as artists, we cannot remain silent while corruption continues to rob Filipinos of their future,” artists’ network statement said.
The Tama Na Coalition aims to strengthen unity among Filipinos in Canada who seek to expose and oppose corruption, promote good governance, and support the Filipino people’s demand for accountability from those in power.### (TamaNa Coalition -Toronto)
