Sunset Community Centre

6810 Main Street, Vancouver, BC V5X 0A1

Migrante BC and the Philippine Artists Network for Community Integrative Transformation (PANCIT) are  pleased to present the art exhibition of community artists, October 24-November 7, 2025. Healing Colours Art Exhibit 2025 will showcase the creative works of participants who have found healing, strength, and connection through art and in community. Witness the stories, struggles, and hopes expressed in the artworks, a celebration of artistic expression and a strong testament to the power of community and resilience.

The artworks are from the Art Therapy and Trauma Healing Mural Painting Workshop led and guided by internationally recognized artist, educator, and cultural worker Bert Monterona.

We have extended the invitation to the families of those who died at the Lapu Lapu Day Tragedy, those injured and impacted by that tragedy.

“Art is a therapeutic experience that can elicit psychological and emotional responses that have the potential to heal those who take part in it,” according to Monterona. Of painting, he says, “You enjoy, and then you discover yourself.”

Opening Reception: Friday, October 24, 6 p.m.- 9 p.m.

Artists and representatives will be in attendance

There will be a Silent Auction on Opening Night
